Join me for our FIFTH Ethiopian Icon Writing Retreat! This icon is from the same codex as the icons done together in previous workshops (pictures below). We will take our time and really relish the history and particular beauty of the Ethiopian Iconographic style. Perfect for a first time student or anyone interested in non-Western depictions of the Christian faith.

 

Students will be led step-by-step in the painting of this icon. Daily prayers and discussion of the Annunciation and the Ethiopian Iconographic tradition will enrich the experience of prayerfully painting or "writing" the icon. All levels of experience welcome!

Class will be conducted live on Zoom. Recordings of each session will be made available for participants via Google Classroom. 

​

This icon will be painted on an 5x7" board. ​A prepared board will be provided along with instructional materials and gold leaf. First-time students have the option to purchase an Introductory Kit for $12 (recommended). See Essential Supplies for details.
